Minicine at the Mills – December // Audience choice: Bicycle Thieves

At last night’s Minicine at the Mills screening of Clayton Jacobson’s Kenny we announced the winner of our recent Audience Choice poll.

Throughout November we gave people the opportunity to decide which film we would screen in December at Armley Mills’ Palace Picturehouse. The five films to choose from were Vittorio di Sica’s Bicycle Thieves, Milos Forman’s The Firemen’s Ball, Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures, Jiri Menzel’s Closely Watched Trains and Ondi Timoner’s We Live In Public.

And the winner is…

  • BICYCLE THIEVES  -59%
  • We Live In Public – 18%
  • The Firemen’s Ball – 12%
  • Heavenly Creatures – 12%
  • Closely Watched Trains  – 0%

Closely Watched Trains? More like ‘No One Wants To Watch Trains‘, am I right? Haha, eh? Am I right? Am I? Is this thing on…?

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, I think it’s safe to say we had a better turnout than the PCC elections.

Bicycles Thieves will be screened on Thursday 20th December at 7PM along with some of our most popular shorts from the last twelve months. Tickets are now open to members at minicine.bigcartel.com and will be available to everybody from next Friday, November 30th.

We’ll have a full preview of the film up on the site shortly.
